Hello!

Since I found out a few days ago about this weekend’s Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay, I’ve been insisting that I wanted to go, so we have decided to assist to the event.

The festival is held in October every year and lasts a weekend. As the name indicates, the pumpkin is the main theme of the event: farmers show their pumpkins and you can take pictures with them, which is so much fun. We visited a farm where the owner allowed you to take pictures on his tractor, and another one that had a Indian tent surrounded by lots of pumpkins and scarecrows. You could easily identify that Halloween is coming!

Half Moon Bay is about 40 minutes away from San Francisco if you drive through the California 1, a road that runs along the coast. You can imagine the amazing views! A good thing is that you can stop at some viewpoints on the road and watch the Pacific, something that we did as well.

But let’s go back to the Festival, which is what this post talks about. The main street of Half Moon Bay is cut off to traffic, and filled with stalls where you can buy handmade products, mainly crafted of wood and glass.

Many people wore customs, but we decided to go unnoticed this time. You could also take a picture with the biggest pumpkin of the year, for which you will have to stand in line and costs $15. We choose to take photos of us with others that, although smaller, were also beautiful and oranges.

Of course we couldn’t leave without tasting the World Famous Pumpkin Pie!

Here what we liked most: The live music and the farmer carving pumpkins live.

See you the next year!
