Today we recommend a must-visit stop on your trip along the California One Highway: We are talking about Capitola, a coastal town, as many people say, with a Mediterranean style.

Capitola is a small coastal town in Monterey Bay born in the late 1800’s. Its population is 10,000 inhabitants.

Its beach is between two cliffs and is famous for the colorful houses that are in front of the beach.

In addition, the Soquel Creek River is the scenario for the Begonia Festival in September. A festival of flowers in which boats are decorated with flowers for a whole weekend.

It’s a frequent stop for all the California One lovers. I like going out of the summer season and avoid crowds on the beach but it’s always a nice place to see.

It is also a good place to sleep and rest from the overwhelming road trip.

Happy road trip!
